I just ordered a Linksys Wireless Router, which is basically free after a rebate from Verizon, and a Linksys Wireless USB Adapter for the second computer since wiring it would be too much hassle and a little too expensive if 100ft UTP Category 5e cable turns out to be short.

I’m finally going wireless in a week! :) I hope it won’t interfere with my implants. :worried:

There’s an inactive ADT System already in place in this house, and since I’m getting a DSL service on the line, I need to install a DSL filter for it; otherwise, I hear a lot of statics, or “white noise,” on the line. However, we can’t find its phone connection. So I called them to have it taken care of, and they are going to dispatch a technician later this afternoon to install the filter.

But you know how much they will charge??? 115 freaking dollars for 30 minutes and additional charges thereafter! o_O Continue reading ‘Home Securiy System’ »

I don’t exacly know how or why, but my DSL has started working from this morning — 3 days before the Service Ready Date — and I didn’t even have to setup an account. So it’s a free access for the next 3 days on top of the free first month! :D

Next day update: It was activated this morning. Shucks… :D First month is still free, though.

No, not me. My favorite younger cousin Woo-jin, who is a daughter of this uncle, is getting married this month. She’s only 25,.. well, I guess she’s old enough. *sigh*

We have moved into our new house without too much hassle or mishap. I’m using NetZero.com right now to connect to the Internet, and I will be getting both cable television and broadband connection on this coming Wednesday; until then, I have a few saved Korean miniseries to watch, not to mention my DVDs. We are moving to our new house this Saturday, and my Internet connection and cable television will be shut off tomorrow morning. My Verizon DSL will be activated after 6PM on May 12. I will be able to get online from this Sunday, though, using NetZero.com. Anyhow, I will be on a hiatus at least until next Thursday.

YES!!! :) I wonder if I can actually get 1.5mbps/384kbps since our new house is about 12,490ft away from the nearest Central Office…

After the appointment, we went to see the Space Needle which, in my opinion, was a complete waste of time and money. My father drove today to go there. I think he’s a bad luck, because the lift on my van decided to malfunction today. o_O

So he’s gonna take it in tomorrow for a repair. Funny thing is, it broke in 2002 when he was driving it. Continue reading ‘Bad luck’ »

I went in to see my neurologist for the last time today to change the settings of my neurotransmitters (implants). Amplitudes were increased to 2.2 from 2.0 on both sides. My ankles — especially the left one — are still giving me problems, though, which started since I returned from California.

I ordered a new phone line yesterday via Verizon website, and they had me fax in a few documents, which I had my mother ask the main office of this place to use their fax since our phone has been disconnected on April 28. After all that, Verizon notified me that the previous owner of our new house hasn’t disconnected his line! But he has moved to Florida on Saturday! WTF! o_O Fortunately, our broker had his cellular number. So I have to call Verizon again after tomorrow and possibly repeat the whole process.
