“The Spanish-American War may have ended over a century ago, but anyone in the U.S. with a telephone line is paying a 3 percent ‘luxury’ tax created to fund the conflict in 1898.” — [[link removed]]

About time…

You just gotta try Google Earth! It’s a very cool program that combines the current services provided by Google, such as map and direction, and it gives you the access to the satellite images of the whole globe! :)

In my opinion, the movie “Land of the Dead” is not that different from its predecessors, but it sure is more gory and detail-oriented. It just lacks originality.

I will rate it an C-. :|

I’m finally starting my internship today. I have to go in a little later today to finalize things and to bring work. I will have to go in once a week for about 3 hours but will work from home most of the time.

I wish money grew on trees… :D

Because of my ol’ man’s constant complaints about VoIP (due to a Verizon DSL disconnection issue), I have decided to go back to Verizon PSTN. So, I’m selling the adapter. Oh, well. :( For a man of his age, by the way, he talks awfully a lot on the phone.

Now, I’m not a big fan of Batman, because frankly, plots of previous ones were more on the comic side; however, I was quite surprised to find a serious tone (plot) in “Batman Begins” with appropriate casts. Also, its plot played very well as a prequel.

I will give it an A. :)

Is anyone having problems with eBay Anything Points???

I was supposed to receive $32.58 worth of credits from my eBay MasterCard, but I don’t see it in my PayPal account. The last time I received right amount of credits was in March. :( I contacted eBay last month about this who in turn contacted Providian, and they assured me that I would get all the accrued credits this month. I guess not.

So I called Providian myself today, and they said they would “investigate” it but cannot give me a timeframe. What’s up with that? I guess I didn’t raise enough Hell for the service rep.

Yes, I finally made the switch from Microsoft Outlook 2002 to Mozilla Thunderbird which has a built-in junk mail filter. With Outlook, I was using SPAM Inspector which ran as a serivce that took about 5MB of RAM by itself alone. On top of that, I was also using PGP Desktop, which I replaced with GnuPG and Enigmail extension for Thunderbird.

Outlook was simply too heavy and bloated for my system. My only complain about Thunderbird is that it insert signatures at the bottom of replies.

Neurotin worked really well in reducing my abdominal spasms for about 2 weeks; after that, it actually made my condition much worse. Too bad, I thought I had found a magic pill. :( Now I need to detoxify my blood… which could take weeks. :( Continue reading ‘Neurontin’ »

I wish they had required all the porn sites to switch so it’s easier for parents to filter them out.
