Archive for December, 2007

I’ve already said my Season’s Greetings in both English and Korean, so I won’t repeat myself but just say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  I don’t know about where you are, but there are still about 9 hours left until 2008 wherein I’ll be turning 33 and 34 in Korean age.  I haven’t really thought about my age until yesterday when a friend brought it up, which I responded with, “Look who’s talking!”

2007 passed by really fast for me… I actually had to look up this just now, because I wasn’t sure what year it occurred in.  I really thought it happened in early 2007.  Man, I must be getting old!  Hell, I don’t even remember when 2006 passed me by!  Anyway, the most memorable event for me in 2007 was when my maternal aunt and uncle came over from Korea to prepare for immigration.

What’s your most memorable event that happened in 2007?

As for new year resolutions, why bother when I know I’m not going to abide by them!?  But if you do, what are your new year’s resolutions?

In a dream, that is. I think I was in my early 20s in this dream, and it felt like I was in a familiar place. It was a friendly setting with a few people, including myself, sitting on a couch watching TV or something. It felt like a residence and not one of those professional tattoo places.

Anyhow, someone very old who seemed to be a grandparent of the friend was giving me a tattoo on my left hand, but that person was having a hard time as my hand was a little spastic and couldn’t stay still; nevertheless, he or she had finished putting the outline of the tattoo of a dragon encircled in a “Yin & Yang” symbol. Then, that person was doing something else, so I asked if it can be finished today and was told to come back the next day as it’s difficult to work with my shaking hand.

I was obviously grumbling to myself as I wanted it finished today. Then I woke up.

What a plain dream, eh!?

I’m watching Bleach and Naruto Shippuden these days, and I’ve loved watching the following:

  1. Blood+
  2. Claymore
  3. Death Note
  4. Devil May Cry
  5. Zombie Loan

As you can probably tell, I like supernatural stuffs.  But I don’t care for animes like Inuyasha and One Piece which are a little “childish” in my opinion.  So, with that in mind, can you recommend me a good anime?

The ol’ man bought himself a 32″ HD TV a few months ago from a friend who runs an electronics store. The thing is that we don’t get HD content from the cable company, so his TV is basically useless which he doesn’t even know about. Talk about ignorance being bliss! HD content subscription costs around $20 extra, so there’s no way in Hell I’m gonna order that. Besides,, we only get basic cable anyway.

And now I found out that such TVs use five times the electricity than regular ones. He keeps it on all day long even when he’s not watching it, so I will probably get higher electricity bills. :?

It didn’t snow that much, but it was a white Christmas nonetheless. It’s nice and all, but when it snows and rains at the same time at a freezing temperature, roads become very slippery. On days like this, I can’t go to work even if there’s a meeting which applies to my coworkers as well. I wish my vehicle had an automatic traction system which was an option that the ol’ man didn’t know about. I bet he didn’t even know what it was! It’d be quite useful in rainy Oregon. :(

Merry Christmas and may the new year be prosperous for you and your family with happiness and good fortune! :)

Korean: 행복한 성탄절를 보내시고 새해에도 행복과 좋은 일들로 부유한 한 해가 되싶이요! :)

That’s close enough, I think. By the way, it looks like it’s gonna be a white Christmas this year. :D

I just sent out a virtual Christmas card to a bunch of my coworkers via e-mail, and I’ve selected this card for the occasion.  It’s pretty generic, isn’t it?  I didn’t want it to look too personal or tacky; besides, it’s for coworkers and not friends.  Oh, I have to send out one to my friends, too.   Just hope that site isn’t selling our e-mail addresses…

I don’t recall that many details, but I was apparently hospitalized for this surgery. It was white all over, including the gowns that people were wearing, that it was almost too bright to see anything far. One weird thing was that a nurse came by peeking inside my underwear to check the size of my penis and then said something aloud for someone to write it down. Talk about an embarrassment! In the next scene, however, the atmosphere totally changed. I think I was walking around by myself, and I was so overwhelmed by it that I was crying aloud for real in my sleep. I’d actually hear myself.

That nurse thing was weird indeed… it’s way out of context. Hmm, maybe I was abducted by aliens???

As of this early afternoon, my “journal” subdomain and all of its b2 files ceased to exist.  Instead, it now redirects to this one automatically, and if there’s the “p” variable in the URL, I’ve made it so that it directs the user to that post.  I’ve also created a subdomain named “weblog” which also redirect users to here.  I did this simply because there are some search references pointing to that subdomain, which I first started with in the beginning before the “journal” one.

That’s all. :)

Personally, I find it a little burdensome to receive Christmas gifts, because I then have to give something back.  In every type of relationship, whether it be personal or professional, there got to be a two-way street; in other words, it’s all about give and take, and you have to balance it just right so that the other person and even yourself don’t feel burdened or obligated.  However, there’s one good thing about receiving gifts — especially if the other person got something just right: I don’t usually buy stuffs for myself that are not necessities, so it can be thought as treating yourself in a way.

I got stuffs this year that I thought I’d never get myself and at the same time, it reminded me to get something for that person.  However, there’s this person in real life who spent way too much for my parents and me that I feel uncomfortable about, because I can’t afford to spend as much as that person.  I still even more comfortable knowing that my mother has to “pay” back in some way eventually since she’s that kind of a person whom I take after.  Oh, well. :?

Anyway, I shopped only for three people this year.  That doesn’t counts my niece and nephew, because my mother got them something.  I didn’t want to shop for them as they are too young to even understand the concept of gift-giving, but I guess you are really shopping for their parents when their children are still toddlers.
