So, I got the new battery for my laptop yesterday afternoon.  The thing is that the battery status indicator (green) light doesn’t stop blinking even after 2 hours of charging.  It IS supposed to blink when the charging gets almost done and then stop completely at 100% charge.  The battery doesn’t seem to get charged above 98% which is why the friggin’ light doesn’t stop blinking.

The FAQ at the seller’s site states that it usually takes 2-4 cycles to be able to charge 100%.  However, I don’t think I had to do that when I first got this laptop.

Any thought?

My laptop is only 1.5 years old, but its battery has already gone bad. It does get charged, but it’s not lasting longer than an hour or so. Also, Windows keep complaining about “power surge” caused by my wireless USB finger trackball mouse which gets its power from the battery. I think it’s happening because the battery can’t provide enough juice for the device, so Windows thinks that the device is causing power surges and disables it to prevent damages to the system. I had to attend a region fair (OCCYSHN Annual Conference) this evening held at the Embassy Hotel in Washington Square from 5:30 to 7:30. The room was pretty small compared to the number of people, so it obviously was quite noisy… and I don’t do well in a noisy environment. There weren’t too many interested people anyway, and most of them had their own booths. Needless to say, it wasn’t that successful. Oh, well. :|
