I attended an VR orientation today which was basically about what they do, what to bring, etc.  They have 6 counselors at their branch, and each of them has around 100 clients.  Long story short, I’ve to wait more than a month just to get assigned to one… and who knows how booked they will be thereafter.

In the mean time, of course, I’ll be submitting my resume all over.

Why does my life have to be so freakin’ difficult!?  I never thought I’d have to go through this all over again. :(

Since I’m out of jobs (see this), I thought I’d get this site done and over with while I’ve plenty of time on my hands. I chose the simple look, trying to optimize it for contents. I saved a lot of the sidebar space by using a plug-in called Tabbed Widgets which basically put outputs of other extensions in its own rotating tabs.  Cool, isn’t it?  Do the tabs rotate for you?

For the time being, I won’t put up any ads other than EntreCard.  I don’t seem to do well with any affiliate programs anyway.  Even when I had Google AdSense, I only made $100 in 5 years, which they took away for “invalid clicks.”

Anyway, any ideas on how to get indexed by Google as soon as possible?

Oh, and “.net” will disappear after abiut a month.

Shortly after I got axed by PayPerPost, I was laid off from my main job at a non-profit organization. 3 out of 6 people were cut today because of budget problems they’re faced with. I don’t know how they’re going to operate with only 3 people.

Obviously, this is a major blow to my income. I’ll have to go through the whole VR process again, which I just dread of, to find a job. Looks like I can’t even rest properly!

Someone get me a gun please…

I got axed by PayPerPost today for not meeting their “quality standards,” so I won’t be able to use this domain to take any more “Opps” from them. Therefore, I’d like to take this opportunity to take a break from all the craziness and relieve some of my mental (money) and physical (back/neck pain) pressures. I’ll be away for about a month unless something major happens. I’ll try to stay away. :)

In the meantime, I’d appreciate it if you’d update the link on your blog / site to MichaelPark.Org if you don’t mind. I’m having it indexed right now and therefore ranked by Google. I’ll eventually merge the two. And when I return, I’ll probably install a new theme optimized for content.

I won’t probably be dropping EntreCard much, either. Sorry.

Okay, then, see y’all in a month!

While I was attending another NikeGo Event on Saturday for work, my mother took the liberty of getting me a new desk since I’ve been having moderate-to-severe upper back / neck pain — without my consent. I was agitated, of course, even though her intentions were good and for my physical health; however, I’m the type of a person who doesn’t like changes in life and the surrounding. I’m more of a creature of habit than the average people. Continue reading ‘New Desk’ »

U.S. has been criticized oftentimes for being too capitalistic, but it’s nothing compared to China today. Making imitation watches and such is quite understandable in a capitalistic perspective, and faking eggs and beef is just laughable — even ingenious; furthermore, they fake medications since there are those who buy them (demands) knowingly to re-sell them in U.S. and others. However, essentially poisoning baby formula with a dangerous chemical, which resulted in 3 deaths and over 50 infants in critical condition so far, is just unforgivable — including lead-tainted toys, toxic pet food, contaminated toothpaste and dumplings.

And S. Korea is not so innocent, either. A few years ago, some company was selling packaged dumplings with “garbage” meat inside — if I recall correctly.

Of course, not every Chinese and Korean are like that. “One rotten apple makes the whole barrel look bad.”

The pain is back. This time, one of the vertebrae in the cervical curve is out of alignment — C5 or C6, I think. On top of that, the muscles around there have been strained because of my arms and the way I use my on-screen keyboard / hand trackball.

The only treatment is neck extraction or hanging up-side down, but I’d certainly freeze up. Fortunately, an electronic massager seems to help a little; otherwise, I’d have to hang myself and kick the bucket… for re-alignment. Heh.

EDIT: For misalignment of cervical vertebrae, roll up a towel thick enough to support your neck when you put it behind your neck while you sleep laying on your back. Don’t use a pillow, and have your head tilt back about 20-30 degrees.

What’s your definition of success? Personally, I believe you’re successful if you think you’re successful as it varies individually. As for me, I haven’t been successful yet… at least in my own perspective.

Read this for a caregiver’s perspective on success. It’s pretty inspirational.

Sarah PalinAs you may know, there has been a lot of media coverage and criticisms about her daughter’s pregnancy. Correct me if I’m wrong or something as I’m not political at all and do not follow them too frequently, but what does it have to do with politics? I mean, it’s a family matter, and it’s not like her daughter is the only 17-year-old who got pregnant. Hundreds, or even more, of teenage girls get pregnant everyday. So what’s the big deal?

By the way, did you know that one of her agendas is to allow people with disabilities to have savings accounts without losing their government benefits like Medicaid and SSI? I like the sound of that. Right now, they only allow $2,000 in assets which is just ridiculous.

I went in to see my neurologist this morning. Since I’ve been doing really bad for the last 4 month, we decided to undo what we did last time; instead, after consulting with another doctor, we decided to increase the pulse width to 400 and frequency to 160 while decreasing the voltage to 2.2 (right) and 2.3 (left).
