I didn’t think Terminator Salvation was as bad as some said it was, although the chareacter Marcus was a little confusing.  I mean, why create only one hybrid that doesn’t even take your side?  Anyway, I think the liquid-based one in Terminator 2 was way cooler.

I’ll rate this an C+.

The new Star Trek film is nothing like the original (first) TV series which it’s based on — especially the characters.  It shows the events that lead Jame Kirk to become a captain and of his father.  The plot is just brilliant as well as its casting.  A mere presence of Leonard Nimoy made it more real.  Yeah, I’m a trekkie.

I rate this an A! :)

The movie “Knowing” conveys three messages in my opinion.  First, our future is pre-determined — that apocolypse is inevitable.  Second, the “2012″ astronomic  prophecy could actually come true.  Third, the Bible is indeed true in a scientific way — that Adam & Eve started the human race.  In this sense, our time is in a loop no matter what we do.

As a film, I found it quite intriguing.  I rate it an B. :)

If you’re into close hand-to-hand combat, you don’t want to miss this film.  Its plot could be better, and the character Kim is quite annoying; however, for its genre, they don’t matter much. Liam Neeson is excellent for the role anyway.

I’ll give it an B+. :)

The Unborn” wasn’t as bad as what its critics say about it; in fact, the surprise elements were directed pretty well, though a little predictable.  It’s as good as any other films dealing with supernatural stuffs.  Also, Odette Yustman has an awesome figure! ;) FYI, I believe it’s a remake of a Korean film.

I’d rate it an B-. :)

I like how seriously this film conveys the fact that we’re leading ourselves to our own extinction by mistreating the environment; we’re like viruses to the Earth.  It also depicts the arrogance of humanity very well; e.g., it’s okay for us to shoot  first and ask  questions  later — and it only works one-way –  even if it’s an immeasurable alien with an unknown intention.  At the same time, however, it also states that humanity can change if survival is at stake and that there’s another side  to us like a coin… one  is destructive and another is completely the opposite.

I liked it well enough to give it  an A-. :)

I’ve never been a fan of the 007 franchise, and “Quantum Of Solace” is no exception. As always, he’s a charming womanizer, or, in my opinion, an insouciant chauvinistic pig. I’m very prejudicial about men like that, because it reminds me of someone. I just don’t like the character. As for its plot, I’d have to say it was mediocre.

I rate it C-.

eagle eyeI finally got to see this yesterday at the theaters.  At first, I wasn’t expecting much as its trailers weren’t that good.  However, the way its plot unfolded, as well as its premise, was just brilliant.

Since Speilberg was an executive director, it’s certain that tthere are some sci-fi aspects in this film.  “Eagle Eye” is a name of an advance AI developed by Department of Homeland Security to gather information and act accordingly.  It’s so advanced that it can access every network and eavesdrop on every cellular phone even when they’re idle.  Its only flaw is that it has none; i.e., it’s not a human. I finally saw this film yesterday, and I was quite surprised to find that it’s not a complete remake of the previous film as I’ve originally though it’d be. While the story development was rather slow for its genre, its plot was excellent. And I loved the message it conveyed: Good and evil are one, and that people are born evil. I kind of agree with Joker. We all have a little of Joker in us, I believe.

A-.

I just saw “Hancock” at the theatre, and I must say it’s pretty damn good.   Comedy and science fiction don’t always go together well, but the director of this film did an exllent job.  And Will Smith was just perfect for the character.  A little more action would have been nice, though.

I’ll rate it an A-.  Go see it for yourself! :)
